		<description><![CDATA[John, it sounds like your mother&#039;s insurance plan is a &#039;grandfathered plan&#039;. Meaning that is was purchased before the passage of the PPACA (Obamacare). If that is the case, until 2014, “grandfathered” group plans do not have to offer dependent coverage up to age 26 if a young adult is eligible for group coverage outside of their parent’s plan. If it is not a &#039;grandfathered plan&#039; then your mother&#039;s employer no longer has the legal right to ask if you offered health insurance elsewhere by an employer.]]></description>
